Give a vivid description of the Sunday evening scene when all the residents sat around the radio to listen to the speech made by Winston Churchill.

Anne describes the scene where they all sat around the radio and listened to the speech given by Winston Churchill. After the speech there was a heated argument between the residents of the annex about the outcome of the war. However, all of them seemed to admire Churchill and agreed that the Germans had lied about a lot of things. The optimists among them said that the war was going well and they trusted the English. On the other hand, the pessimists believed that Germans would win the war in the end.
