A marble tile measures 25 cm by 20 cm. How many tiles will be required to cover a wall of size 4m by 3m. ?
Given, length of tile = 25cm
and breadth of tile = 20cm
Therefore, area of one tile = length × breadth = 25 cm × 20 cm = 500 cm2
Now, length of wall = 4 m = 400 cm [using 1 m = 100 cm]
and breadth of wall = 3 m =300 cm
Therefore, area of wall = 400 cm × 300 cm = 120000 cm2
Now, number of tiles required = area of wall/ area covered by 1 tile on the wall
